Clarifying aspects of the rules for air ticket sale and accounting in Ukraine

Journal "The In-House Lawyer", #159, April 2008

THIS ARTICLE AIMS TO CLARIFY THE position regarding the sale of air tickets in Ukraine and to develop a unified approach regarding sale and accounting of air tickets. We were encouraged to write it by the performance of the Ukrainian tax authorities' audits of air companies, their agents and other legal entities that operate in the Ukrainian air services market. Certain Aspects Concerning the Protection of Trademarks Rights in Ukraine

The Ukrainian Journal of Business Law, Vol.6 #4 April 2008

The growing intensity of competition in the Ukrainian and global markets has made the positioning and identification of companies and their products and services essential for the successful running of a business. In most cases such positioning and identification rely on trademarks owned by companies. In Western countries the trademark is one of a company's most valuable assets. However, the majority of Ukrainian businesses fail to take this issue seriously. With an established trademark the company may benefit from greater customer loyalty, increased resistance to the marketing actions of competitors and a greater willingness among consumers to accept price rises.
